Beyond the highway

I'm writing this post in the hotel lobby in the middle of Austria, where I'm spending well deserved winter holidays. We arrived in a true winter wonderland with almost 50 centimeters of snow covering the ground and it has been snowing all day, so I can't wait to hit the ski slopes tomorrow, hoping we'll get as much sun as possible!

Going through different fall 2012 collection, I found myself sticking to the black and white ones. I guess there's just something so chick about them, especially if you add some fur to the whole things..Count me in!

So no wonder Alexander Wang's collection caught my eye. Loving those clean and asymmetrical cuts, not such a big fan of net tights, but in general...J'adore!

new kind of accessory

Looking at this other dress, that I was sent from LOVE, I found myself in a major dilemma: shoot the photos outside and "ruin" the outfit with tights or sacrifice beautiful background and take the photos inside. Well as you can see, I decided for the other option, I realised that taking these kind of simple but yet so amazing photos in front of the basic, white background isn't such a bad idea from now and then. Especially if you can incorporate a little bit different accessory, as known as 10 years old, flat coated retriever, named Gaja, which is one of the most adorable and one of the nicest dogs I have ever met! This was probably one of the funniest shots I have ever done, not to mention going through pictures, that was pretty hilarious, Gaja sure did get her 10 minutes of fame! :D

I believe these photos are the perfect reflexion of my mood at the moment..yes exams are over, I still have one little presentation to finish, but this is nothing in comparison with all the other things I was working on these last couple of weeks! I do feel tired, but so happy and excited on the other side and for all of you, that are still in the same position as I was just a day ago (meaning studying 24/7), suck it up! It is SO worthed at the end! :)

Anyway as I promised, here is an outfit with one of the dresses that I showed you in my previous post, not really an appropriate look for these temperatures, but I was dying to wear this dress, so since I was inside all day long...well, you can see the result!

Winter with a capital W

I honestly feel like an old lady in these last couple of days, because the only thing that I seem to be talking about is the weather (if you follow me on Twitter that you are probably nodding at the moment). I think it's because it caught me completely unprepared, I got so used to those normal temperatures that this crazy cold weather shocked me quite a bit. I believe that for the first time, I don't mind being stuck inside the house, even if it means studying all day long!

But well on the other side, waking up and realising that everything is covered with snow, has it's own charm and what better to do than drag a notsoexcited boyfriend outside to shoot such an amazing pictures!

So I guess THE winter has finally started and I'll have to put all those "springish" thoughts aside for a while, it's still only February so who am I fooling?!

Seaside...doesn't matter if it's in summer or in winter, whenever I go there it makes me so excited. I think it's because I've always associated sea with freedom, which in these days it's one of the most appreciated things possible. I normally work quite ok under a lot of pressure, but this time the stress seems to have taken me down. These last couple of days were pretty hectic, I honestly barley recognized myself and I really couldn't wait for them to be over. But thinking about my behavior now, I kind of feel stupid for letting my mind to break me down. Because at the end, it is all on me, how am I going to confront the problems and how am I going to solve them (in a positive or negative way). And that at the end, I'm the one who decides if I'm gonna let something or someone to let me down. Because the only thing standing on my path to success it's myself and the only limit I have?...I believe you can tell by the title! :)

If you think these photos are product of a great amount of photoshop, than I'm sorry to tell you that you are absolutely wrong! Making these photos actually looked and felt like being in a wonderland. The foggy weather with a little bit of sun that was trying to come out, surrounded with nothing but fields ...well I believe the result is well seen! There are so many patterens and materials going on in this outfit, but this is one of the things I love about fashion..it is all about fun! Mixing and matching, spicing up regular clothes (like this basic denim shirt) and just trying to come up with something new and inovative!

I just came to say hello!

My mood at the moment couldn't be more different than the one on the picture above. If you follow me on Twitter than you probably know how madly I've been studying in the last couple of days...well the day has come and I had my exam today. And all I can say is, there are no words that can describe how mad and angry I am, I'm not a type of person that would normally blame a professor, but this time...I better not even say it!!!

Oh well, life goes on and I can start to study for my next one or lets say ones, sice there are 4 of them that are still waiting for me...Gosh I can't wait for this "exam period" to be over!

A lot of you were curius how am I going to style the necklace (posted below) so voila! We shot the photos in this beautiful avenue, right before the sunset so the enviroment, especially the lightning was absolutely beautiful.. I only wish it was a little warmer because I was frezzing as hell in that light jacket (since I was hiding my coat on a tree :D).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

It's my blog's birthday today, so Magnifique it's now officially three years old!!

I can't believe how time flies by, I can still remember that feeling when I wrote my first post, how excited and proud I was! When I first started blogging, I basically had no knowledge about it. Before that I was reading a lot of blogs, so one day I decided to start my own one. I was one of the first fashion bloggers here in my country, where fashion blogging (in comparison with other countries) is still at its very beggining. It was above all my hobby, a place where I could be creative and I didn't take it very seriously. But especially in the last year, I decided to take my blog to the next level, so it became one of my priorities and all my effort is finally starting to pay off!

So I'm very excited for the future, I'm determinate to work hard and to make my blog bigger and better! At this point I would like to thank all of you, my lovely readers, that are my main source of energy and impetus and that are making me want to continue doing what I love the most!

My last outfit post...in year 2011 of course! I can't believe another year is comming to an end. It was a magnificent year, a lot of things have happened to me, there were a lot of ups (finding love for example :) and of course some downs, but in general I can't complain! :)

Furthermore Magnifique is slowly moving forward, year 2011 has definitely been successful for my blog (read Blogger's wardrobe), so I can't wait to see what is the year 2012 going to bring.

And last but not least, I would like to wish all of you HAPPY NEW YEAR, I hope you're all going to celebrate it with people you love and that you're going to have a great beginning of a new year!

Ladies and gentlemen, the day has come...the very first package from Blogger's wardrobe has arrived!! We were informed that our first purchases should be delivered this week, but I completely forgot about that so you can imagine how surprised I was, when I found a postman with a big package in his hands, standing at my door! In my first package I received these adoooorable woollen shorts by Lovikka (that I fell in love with, the moment I saw them) and a pair of earrings by Pilgrim, that are just perfect for Newyears' eve.

Here's a quick post, just to show you my new coat that I found under the Christmas tree. Santa Claus really surprised me this year, our secret family rule of "small gifts" definitely was broken (not that I'm complaining :D), while on the other hand the rule of preparing a little less food (that we come up with every year) was of course broken as usual!
I would like to wish all of you MERRY CHRISTMAS, one more time, and now I'm off to eat some more cookies and a new dessert that my mom has prepared! :D

Christmas is finally here! It has been pretty hectic in these past couple of days, a lot of running around the town, doing some last Christmas shopping, stressing over some gifts that I have ordered on the internet, making cookies and what is the most important, spending time with the people I love the most.
My family and I, start to celebrate Christmas tonight, with a huuuge Christmas dinner and continue tomorrow with some more food involved! I've been thinking about the future in these day a lot. Meaning a lot of anxiety, insecurity and fear. But all that thinking made me realised or let say, one of the most important people in my life made me realised it..it's gonna be ok. I know that no matter what it's about to happen, there are people around me that will stand by and will be there for me, and I couldn't be more thankful for that. So the only thing that I can do right now, is live for the moment and to dream big, because as William Allen White once said:

Can you believe December starts TOMORROW?!! How freakin' excited is that? Yes I confess, I am a little bit of a Christmas freak but hey, who doesn't like all those lights, decorations, candies and that happiness that seems to be everywhere around us?!

Probably because I'm comming down with a flue or something so instead of thinking fashion, I think my main thought today was mostly just to stay comfy and warm. Well at least it is, when I'm wearing this beautiful shirt, that almost screams vintage and it is a true vintage peace in deed! It's another treasure from my grandma's closet and I consider myself VERY lucky for finding something so special (not to mention how comfortable and beautiful the material is)! Simple, comfy and warm...that's kind of my main theme when it comes to dressing up, in these days. I honestly can't wait for this month to be over, it is seriously taking for EVER and it's even harder to wait, when you know that it's followed by the most awesome month of the year. It was love at first side! From the moment I found Spell and the Gypsy's website I was in love (although I did cool down a little when I saw the prices) and I think I've been cheating on Wildfox and Nasty Gal because of this amazing clothes!

I believe most of the kids grow up listening to some cute children's songs and stories and well when it comes to my mum and her view on my musical education at an early age, I was no exception. But my dad..well that's another story. Spending my childhood with him, whenever possible he would put on some old school and legendary rock bands, think Rolling Stones, ACDC and Deep Purple. So I guess although I was pretty much a girly girl, a part of this "rock spirit" remained inside me and I believe it's breaking out! :D

I went to Stradivarius the other day with an intention to get these awesome snake printed leggings. Of course as usual, I didn't end up buying only one thing, this soft and comfy jumper looked just to adorable to resist buying it and well it is true that I've been looking for such necklace for some time now..and yes I think I'm making some excuses here! :D
Anyway I actually didn't plan to wear all of the items at the same time, but when I got home I realised I came up with quite an adorable styling!

Day 2 of the Philips fashion week, was definitely more to my taste. I finally lived to see Nina Šušnjara's show in person so (since she is one my most favourite designers) I was super excited. And well once again, she delivered an amazingly chic, elegant and at the same time so wearable collection! Another pleasant surprise was also Maja Ferme..when I saw all that fringe I was sold! On the other hand Nataša Hrupič's collection wasn't anything special and it kind of reamined in the rear.
Of course fashion week, wouldn't be what it was without my blogger friends, that made the whole night so much more fun, think taking fashionable photos in the toilet and embarrising driving with the elevator! :D

PFW day one, part deux

Since we needed to do something in between to shows, we had a little unofficial bloggers meet up, hanging out with Eva from All around eve, Katja from Oblačilnica and another Eva, writing Muscovites sky. We had a lot of fun, think a lot of talking, photograhy and especially gossip that whiled away the time.
The second show (on day one) was much better in my opinion. This time Matevž Faganel, Farandula, Pletenine Draž, Firma, Almira Sadar & Niti Niti and Goodone presented their work. Faganel's work was as usual simple and clean but yet so elegant and sophisticated, Almira Sadar left us with mixed opinions, but the one that impressed me the most was probably Pletenine Draž. That net looking hair accessorie really looked amazing and made that final touch to the whole collection.

PFW day one

As you all know Philips fashion week started yesterday, here in Slovenia. And for the first time, when it comes to the whole scene and the light show, I think they did a pretty nice job. On the other hand there wasn't enough space at the press spot, because they put us together with the photographers so it was really crowdy!
Moving on to the designers, in the first part Aleksandra Brlan, Vladimira Kralj, Tanja Zorn and Mango presented their work and to be completely honest they didn't impress me at all. There were even some copies seen walking down the runway, something like Lanvin for H&M and Valentino so thumbs down for that. I did like some of the Aleksandra's pieces though but still, nothing ground breaking!
I'm still waiting for my outfit pictures so stay tuned for that and of course check out Magnifique for the rest of the report from Philips Fashion week! :)

I think that one of the best feelings is when a random person approaches to you, and says something nice about your blog. But I think even bigger honour, for a blogger, is when a designer asks you to feature a piece of her work, on your blog. And guess what...Something like this has happened to me!!!
Hana Karim was so generous, to give me a pair of one of the most amazing and interesting earrings I have ever seen..and I'm not just saying that. Her jewellery, that is mainly made of ceramics, it's quite edgy and solid but at the same time so sophisticated and chic and I think with her creativity and imagination, she brings the jewellery design to a whole new level!

If you read my blog, you are well aware that from now and than I can't help myself, but to write a little bit more emtional post. I guess it is my way to express and share my feelings with all of, my beloved readers. Anyway, as every other human being, I as well, am going through different phases in my life. There have been good times, but there of course have been many bad times. I even got to a point where I was considering deleting my blog and stop writing, because I couldn't find the reason to keep doing it. But I got over that and boy, I'm glad I did. At this point of my life, I am able to say, that I finally truely believe that everything is gonna be ok. Why?..Because I finally realised that I am the ONLY ONE, who is responsible for my future. Of course there are some other external factors, but in general I'm the one who is the main artist when it coems to designing my life. I don't know what the future will bring, but with an optimistic, positive and sometimes careless attitude, I know I'm able to do anything!

Week of Design is in the town, meaning a lot of art, fashion and cool events, all in one place. On Thursday I decided to make my fashionable appearance, check out what it was going on and to meet up with the other slovenian fashion bloggers. I was really pleasantly surprised, the week of Design exceeded all of my expectations, I discovered so many amazing Slovenian designers and of course hangging out with all the other fashionistas it's always so much fun!

Fashion.si night shopping

On Wednesday's evening, Fashion.si hosted a really nice event, where Slovenian designers, fashion bloggers and other fashionistas were able to meet up, buy something cute and enjoy a fashion show at the end. I didn't stay too long though, it was so freaking cold and when I realised I left my wallet at home, standing next to that amazing vintage clothes and jewellery wasn't really an option! But I did manage to take my new fur bag out for a walk and I had a really nice time with adorable Maja and Alja and that is just fine with me! :D

Aztec nails

Although I'm so into clothes and fashion, when it comes to make-up, for me everything ends up with mascara and eyeliner. And I'm honestly no better with nails. But when I saw this AMAZING aztec motif, I decided to give myself a little challenge and this is what I came up with...of course they aren't perfect, but since it was my first time painting on the nails, I think I did a pretty good job! :)

I apologise for the lack of posts lately, but I've been SUPER busy in the last couple of days. I'm sort of in a process of moving (I'm getting a new room), so a lot of things need to be done and since Ikea became my second home at the moment, there was simply no time for blogging. But I did manage to find a little time for shopping and I must say I'm really glad I did, otherwise I won't be able to get my hands on this baby! Yes, I'm talking about my new Guns N'Roses shirt that I bought in H&M. I thought it was completely lost for me, since it was in stores for such a long time and I was stupid enough, not to buy it earlier! So you can imagine how happy I was, when I found it the other day, the last one, in the biggest size possible, but I couldn't care less!

Simple and comfortable. This had probably been my moto, while putting together this outfit. I know I have been probably wearing these boots in almost every recent post, but I just can't get enough of them. They were perfect to mix them with more summerish clothes and they are gonna come very handy in the fall. I'm so happy the temperatures have decreased and it's not as hot as it was just a few days ago, because to be completely honest, I had enough of the summer and I'm so ready to start getting out a bit warmer clothes, to start layering and mixing different pieces, to let the fall fashion rise in it's glory!

First of all, I'm sorry for the lack of the posts this week, I've been very busy/going through that I'vegotnothingtowear phase or maybe Ihatemyhair phase, anyways a BIG apology to all of you!
On the other hand, I had such an amazing day yesterday! The love of my life and I went to a small trip to the Zbilje lake, celebrating our (monthly) anniversary. We even rented a boat to explore the lake a little bit, avoding those creppy looking swans (is it just me or their look is just evel?!) and trying to catch a little duck, that mysteriously stayed underneath the water for a really long time! The statement of the day?...Rowing is hard!! It looked really easy, while I was watching my bF doing it, but when I tried it myself...well let's just say, I felt extremly incapable and you can see it on my face! :D

Last but not least, I would like to thank all of you, who had voted for me, at Blogger's wardrobe competition! I really appreciate every, single like of yours, it really means a lot to me and well all we can do right now is keeping our fingers crossed, and hoping I'll be the chosen one! Went to Invidiauomo's grand opening last night. The event was quite as I have expected, there were a lot of bussiness men, a few bloggers here and there and some other more or less fashionable people, making their appearance. So after having a few glasses of champagne, checking some sort of fashion show (where models were changing their shirts right in front of us..not that I'm complaining! :D) and doing a little gossip about slovenian celebrities, I left the party. But I've decided to stay a little bit longer next time (even though the clothes and audience won't be completely my tipe), there was supposedly a cake at the end..and I missed it!!

Just came home, from this very cool event, called Re-tro-feja. With a couple of my friends we went to, let's call it, a vintage event, where people were able to buy amazing second handed clothes, there were models wearing them, all over the place, there was food and was of course something to drink, but the most important, the slovenian fashionistas gathered together. I was wearing this amazing poncho that I found on sale in H&M, which became one of my favourite pieces at the moment and I would like to thank Anže, for taking the photos! I was super excited to hear that some changes are about to happen here in Slovenia (in the fashion area of course) so stay tuned!

Although the temperatures here in Ljubljana are beyond normal (meaning it's soooo freaking hot outside), my mind is already in fall. When I think of fall my first thought would be a fur vest. I can't help myself, I'm honestly obssesed with it and I can't wait to wear it. Although this year I'm planning to style it with some flare jeans and a big hat, that are on the top of my wishlist at the moment. Again my love for big, chunky rings still hasn't passed, so you'll be see me wearing them A LOT! I played with Polyvore a little, so above you can take a look of, what it could be called, my perfect outfit!

It must have been quite big for me at that time, that's all I can say! :D And the new feather necklace? It was a gift from my little sis, that just came home from London and I absolutely adore it!

So, one of my latest obsessions?...Fringe boots, I would really prefer those from Isabel Marant. Probably a little bit too much for my small budget, but I'm on a serious hunt to find as similar as possible! On the other hand, to be completely honest, the whole colletions seems a little messy to me. Don't get me wrong, I ADORE some of the pieces (especially if they have anything to do with fur :D), but the thing is, there is simply too much going on. She incorporated so many trends that for me, the whole thing seems a little unlinked. But well, who am I to judge, at the end I would be the first in line to get my hands on these precious pieces!

I can't believe it's August already! The time flies by so quickly and I must say I was quite shocked when I realised when was the last time I worked on my blog. But summer and vacations are my excuse. Days of not doing completely anything have became my rutine but I think it's time for me to get my self back in the game! :D For now, still no outfit post though, but I really wanted to share some of my latest inspirational photos!

Hello everyone! I just came around to update you a little bit on what has been or will be going on. I'm enjoying the holidays at their fullest, mostly by spending time with people I love the most. At the moment I'm back at my place, spending the night at my own bed after almost 14 days of being around places but I'm already heading to the coast tomorrow again.
Another news would be, that after I'm done with holidays, I'm bringing this blog to another level, meaning I have a new photographer, which means more and what is most important better photos.
